Your rights stay yours
Capturing your own site with LayerPort does not transfer anything to us. You retain all rights in the source, the capture and the generated project. We claim no licence to use, display or distribute your material.
Third-party material inside a capture
A captured site usually contains material licensed from other people: fonts, stock photography, icon sets, embedded video, third-party scripts. Those licences do not automatically travel with a copy. A webfont licensed for one domain may not be licensed for another; a stock photo licensed to a hosted builder account may not be licensed to a repository you own.
Before publishing migrated output, check at minimum:
- Fonts — self-hosting a webfont is often a different licence from using it through a builder.
- Imagery and video — confirm the licence covers the new host and any new domain.
- Icons and illustration — attribution requirements survive the move.
- Third-party code — open-source licences carry notice and attribution obligations.
- Templates and themes — check whether the licence permits reproduction at all.
LayerPort localizes assets so the output is portable. Portability is a technical property. It is not a licence, and localizing an asset does not grant you rights to it.
